Big Twist To Release 2nd Mixtape

Following the quiet delayed release of 'Twistyle Mixtape', Big Twist doesn't stop there. The Vredenburg rapper has found inspiration to create a follow up mixtape subject to be released next year. The title is yet unknown, the same applies to the amount of songs and artists it might feature but Twist suggest that it might be a second edition to the previous mixtape.

The content however is guaranteed to be mind blowing. Twists intendeds to deliver a message as to how life is being a teen rapper and ensures it will be 20 times better then the current tape.

He plans to give Twistyle artists a framework to build their artistic careers. Through the 2nd release a variety of instrumentals will be used instead of self-produced - enabling a quicker and more convenient production procedure for the team.

Real U Wears The Crown For The Underground

West Coast Hip-Hop raised the banner high this week as Saint Helena Bay rapper, Tha Real U reps his town and region well. The conscious rapper released his follow up to 'That I'm Dreaming' which reached a record breaking 100 downloads in 2 weeks, but that was nothing compared to this week’s happenings. The song 'Underground Kings' was produced by Shaloma Muzik following a similar production procedure of 'November 28 Girl' and a hard-core message echoing that of 'Long Nights' - the West Coast Conscious Hip-Hop banger which left many speechless after its release about 2 months ago.

Johannesburg rapper, TiTan Kai from the Eldorado Park Christian Hip-Hop group, UNIQUE, joined Real U on this groundbreaking new single. As another heat-seeker following Real U's two successful releases, 'Underground Kings' rapidly gained downloads and plays within just an hour of release. According to Shaloma Muzik's posts on Tha Real U's Facebook page, the song gathered 12 plays within 45 minutes and 10 downloads within 50, a number which normally takes some artists roundabout a day, sometimes a week or even a month to achieve.

The song then went on to beat its sister, 'Long Nights' by accumulating 60 downloads in just 19 hours, compared to the 56 — 'Long Nights' has after 2 months. Followed by an abundance of thanks from Tha Real U, the song initially reached 98 downloads at 18h00 (GMT+2) on Wednesday, December 19th; 24 hours from when it was subject to release. However, due to its actual release at 18h06 the previous day this result did not reflect the full 24 hours which at just a few minutes later saw the song officially reach the 100 downloads mark at 18h10.

In respect to the songs release, mobile music-site Swagcity (swagcity.wen.ru), introduced a new feature, entitled 'Featured Song' which places a selected track located on the site, on its home page for a week. Granted that 'Underground Kings' was a brand new addition, the song became the first to be featured in this promotion.

Reflecting some of Real U's work on his mixtape, the song is recorded on a Drake instrumental of the same title. Real U stated that he found the instrumental a few months back online and felt the urge to record on it instantly. He found the title appropriate to the message he (at that time) wanted to present. This occurred after he felt a little discouraged due to the fact that some suggested that they disliked Real U's rapping in comparison to other local rappers. A few others stated that his message is different causing him not be as good as the rest. Real U however did not record this song as a response to his haters, but rather an indirect message to other rappers and their fans, which vividly compare his work to theirs.

The center aim of the song is bringing consciousness to artists, particularly rappers in the West Coast region. Real U states that he is an Underground King, not because of status but because of his position. His message of faith through Conscious Rap is a way of repping his superhero, Jesus as stated. As Galatians 4:7 in the Bible states that they are heirs in the Kingdom of God and co-heirs in Christ, Real U suggests that they should be considered kings on Earth as the Bible identities them as princes in Heaven.

This Christian perspective is evident throughout the song and stretches till the end, where Real U concludes that those who exalt themselves, considering themselves to be better than the rest, will be humbled.

As initially intended Shaloma Muzik will soon release a lyrical video for the song on YouTube. Other than this, it has not yet been confirmed as to whether or not the song will be uploaded on KasiMp3, as it will follow the release procedure of its two predecessors, appearing on Zamob and other connected sites of the Wapload network.

There's A Twister's On It's Way!

Meet Big Twist, a serious rapper, with a serious aim. Born in Kimberly, the 17 year old underground Hip-Hopper does more then just throw lines over a microphone as lyrics, he produces his own music and in visions the goal of revolutionising West Coast music.

As a resident Hip-Hopper on the coast, Twist has so far been known to feature with the skills of his mates General and Young F!ip. These artists are yet but a few of the names endorsed by Twist's freshly-made label 'Twistyle Music'. Apart from the coastal action, he is one of Kimberly's G.L.A.P (Ghetto Life Akadamie Productionz) artists, a production line founded by Gapz, a multimedia producer who started doing his thing in this biz as early as the year 2000.

So far Twist's biggest debut as a solo artist would be his latest, the underground hit, 'Fast Lane.' The song received airplay on 92.3fm Radio West Coast along with his earlier release 'Apology Thru A Love Letter' (featuring Mi3zy).

What does Twist have up his sleave? A heavy duty debut mixtape. The tape named after the new label, will feature unique sounds of not only it's main artists but also various Twistyle artists, as made evident with the single 'Amagents' by General. In Twist's case this characteristic promotes both the artist and the brand equally promoting strenghtened support to the label.

Subject to the mixtape's release, will be a launch party, live and exclusive at Lapland, Vredenburg on September 29th. The event is hosted by GTK Entertainment along with Twistyle and features performances by Lazy Catz, Torando and DJ G Twizt. So far, enterance is free and all is welcomed. This is surely not to be missed as the celebration begins early at 4pm.

There's No Limit To House Music As D33psoul Denies Real U

Just last week, Real U's Vandalism banger Hard Time For Lovers was considered the 'Most Downloaded Song' from a Touch Radio artist, after accumulating 100 downloads on Soundcloud, the standard download limit for the online sound sharing website. This week’s results took a turn as D33psoul's hot single It's All About denies that.

Known to be the very first release of Touch Radio's prime House DJ, D33psoul, along with his legendary radio-show mate, Ample-Goon, D33psoul managed to scoop an outstanding 155 downloads together with 15 plays for the single dropped just two months ago. These results were gathered from it's primary download source of Kasimp3.com. The single is yet to drop elsewhere.

As D33psoul now takes the lead in numbers, It's All About has officially earned the status of being the 'Most Downloaded Song' from a Touch Radio artist as well as the 'Quickest Song To Reach 100-Downloads' a record holding place in equivalence to Real U's Hip-Hop release New Me (Miss Me Freestyle) which earned 150 plays, the 'Quickest Song To Reach 100-Plays' within a period of 2 months.

As D33psoul's success remains in tack and still growing, the only question left to ask is...
What’s next for this young artist?

Real U: 100 downloads! It's Official!

The 11 month old, Hard Time For Lovers (Afro-Deep Blend) from DJ Real U's Vandalism mixtape, has finally reached its peak of 100 downloads.

Featured on the online sound-sharing website, Soundcloud, the House music bootleg from former Touch Radio & Radio Shawty DJ, DJ Real U, slowly but surely met the Soundcloud download limit of 100 downloads per song, as it escalated throughout the year.

Released November 2011, on Real U's Vandalism, the song quickly grew House fanatics attention as it embrends the sound of Rocco & Robert C. Walker, well-known names in the Deep House industry.

Along with 491 plays, the song has officially become the most downloaded song by a Touch Radio artist, overstepping DJ D33psoul's It's All About which instantly increased in download numbers since its release in late August.

The mixtape howsoever, was only fully released roundabout five months ago on realudj.tk due to Real U's transition to the Hip-Hop genre.

His latest release 50/50: The Vision attracted new audiences as Real U now focuses on consciousness in the music industry. So far Thank You (Unforgettable Freestyle) is Real U's most played Hip-Hop track with 259 plays on Soundcloud, followed by New Me (Miss Me Freestlyle) trailing in second with 150 plays in 2 months. These numbers could greatly increase if they were by any means promoted.

Other excellent figures for Real U is the famous Kwaito sensation Jezebel, which earned him 21,153 views on YouTube for his 'DJ Real U Dub Mix', featured on his earlier, 2010 double disc release entitled, Greenroom Mixtape. A total of 29,426 YouTube views lie behind this once emerging, consistent, passionate & skilful DJ. Real U's music is yet to peak elsewhere.

Real U keeps it Real COOL! One Truth and One Mixtape.

Former DJ, Real U (also known as Real Mixwell) dropped his revolutionary mixtape 50/50: The Vision last week, on the very first day of Spring on the African continent. With this 1st September release, there were no delays in getting it! Regardless of how the tape was pushed back 2 weeks since it's proposed release date, the mixtape received instant download numbers and positive comments from various listeners.

Its promotion however was kept to a low, as Real U intends to provide his listeners with quality lyrics and sound. The production of The Vision can be criticised, but for many it has been overlooked as the editing and lyrically content filled the tape with a potential flow.

Feats from Lil' Beats and LiLReD helped narrow the solo feel of the release, with Kristie Alexandra vocally supporting the mixtape in its introductory stage on Crash Down.

Bonus songs Last Goodbye & Got Me Down paved a smooth ending to the 25-track Christian-based Conscious Hip-Hop fiasco. Local beat maker, Lee-Rick and musician Noel Kearns, helped as well as Real U thankfully credits them for their work. The mixtape is certainly a must hear for many. The question is not really 'who is Real U?' but rather 'what can he do?'

Title based on 1 Corinthians 13:12, '50/50' reflects both an uncertain image of life and the hope of a fulfilled vision in Christ.

Inspired to serve, this 18 year old lyricst, speaks either truth or a really brutal message to the youth. Days after the tape's release, Real U decided to tweet his expressive flow, under the hashtag #5050TheVision. No stranger to tweeting rhymes, the youngin' promotes Christian Hip Hop from the likes of Lecrae, Trip Lee & Bizzle, regularly through socially networking.

What lies in store for his artistic future? Only God knows.

It's All About D33psoul - Touch RJ, Drops His First Record

The 2nd most dominant Touch Radio artist on the web, DJ D33psoul, finally put his skills to the work when the forces of all things House collaborated between the Eastern Cape and Gauteng.

His once and always great partner in crime, DJ Ndwaz10 who now goes by Ample-Goon, stirred up a dramatic piece of Deep House entitled It’s All About. The song first received recognition last month on its date of release. Since then it has elapsed 82 downloads, the 2nd highest from a Touch Radio jock trailing behind Real U's Hard Time For Lovers Afro Blend mash-up, which received 97-downloads so far.

Let's not forget, this is his first. The question stands as to whether there will be more to this anticipated artist, or will this turn into a one hit wonder.

Remarks on the song were equally received, but the deep house flavour of the song remains. It's everything deep house proving that D33psoul lives up to his name.

Real U Now 100%! Vandalism Gets Full Distrubution

The once ambitious House DJ, DJ Real U, has set various flames in the underground industry with leaks from his much anticipated mixtape Vandalism. A mixtape which took about half the year to complete, has now officially met its peak, when Real U Productions & the West Coast Finest team decided to distribute it one last time in 2012.

Today, 24 June marks a memorious day as Real U becomes the first Touch Radio artist (amongst the like of Ndwaz10 & DJ D33psoul) to submit a full mixtape online. His mixtape is now available at the official DJ Real U website (realudj.tk) as well as on 4shared.

Following various local feedback, the mixtape has gotten nothing but positive vibes since Real U's previous Greenroom Mixtape was distributed. Following 4 previous mixtapes, Vandalism has become the first to receive full support as rumours suggest Real U will no longer be involved in the House Music industry.

Review: DJ Real U - 'Vandalism' Mixtape

Vandalism - The Mixtape by DJ REAL U
********Review*******

Outstanding for a beginner.

My advice is "to play more of the words and slow a bit down on the mixing part, people like singing along with the music...but that's my opinion."

STANDOUT TRACKS:

Track 16 - 'Just Wait' is awesome - it's got a cool beat.

Track 9 - 'If We Ever Meet Again' should have played bit more of the original song.

Track 15 - 'Candy Shop (Afro-Jack Blend)' the mixing is very kwaai

Track 4 - 'All Of The Lights' I also like

Must compliment the artist on the CD cover, It's rather professional.

CONSTRUCTIVE ADVICE:
(to the artist)

If you wana pursue this DJ'ing as a carrer - I'd advise you to mix a greater variety off genres, such as something slower.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I enjoyed listening to this CD.
